Michigan Woodlands

Ludington State Park and the Scottville Beekeepers assisted in the creation of the exhibit and it was made possible in part by a grant from the Community Foundation for Mason County and from the Ludington Area Jaycees.

Michigan Woodlands teachs children fundamental scientific concepts and inspires a love and appreciation of nature. This exhibit includes a realistic maple tree with a view into the worlds above and below ground and an interactive beehive. It incorporates many scientific concepts, including pollination, hibernation, metamorphosis, and photosynthesis.

Michigan Woodlands fosters appreciation for Michigan's beautiful natural resources and helps children understand the connections between humans and nature. This project has brought Sandcastles together with many local organizations also concerned with protecting our environment and natural resources.

“When I give to Sandcastles, I know my donation goes directly to creating fun and stimulating experiences for the children of our community. ”
